Founded at the University of Virginia on March 1, 1868, Pi Kappa Alpha has more than 220 chapters and 250,000 initiates in the U.S. and Canada. Its initiates, nicknamed 'Pikes' are well represented in business, government, sports, the arts and entertainment. Prominent initiates include media personalities like Ted Koppel and Jon Stewart, elected officials, many prominent CEO's and founders of businesses, and numerous well known athletes and coaches.
