Sigma Chi Ties
One of the most important decisions a young man makes in college is the decision whether or not to join a fraternity. Many find fraternities like Sigma Chi to be sources of friendship, camaraderie and purpose that last well beyond graduation. You can display your pride in Sigma Chi with a tie, pocket square, or bow tie in traditional sig blue and gold.
Founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio on June 28, 1855, Sigma Chi is one of the oldest and largest fraternities, with more than 300,000 initiates. Sigma Chi members, affectionately known as 'sigs', adhere to the ideals embodied in their Ritual and enshrined in their constitution, of friendship, justice and learning.
Significant sigs include President Grover Cleveland and many other elected officials. Sportsmen like Jim Palmer, Tom Seaver and legendary football coach Mike Ditka are also sigs, as are actors and media personalities like Warren Beatty, David Letterman and Woody Harrelson not to mention the Duke himself, John Wayne. They also boast initiates who are at the forefront of business, from famed architect Michael Graves to the president of Marriott.
Sigma Chi Colors and Symbols
Sigma Chi's colors are blue and old gold. Its primary symbol is a white cross on a blue shield, which is inspired by the story of the Roman Emperor Constantine's defeat of Maxentius at the Milvian Bridge, which led both to his sole rulership of the Roman Empire and to his conversion to Christianity. Induction into the Order of Constantine is the highest honor the fraternity can bestow upon its members who display commitment, dedication and service to Sigma Chi.
Tiemart offers many neckties, pocket squares, and bow ties in Sigma Chi blue and gold.
