Emily always dreamed of a western-themed wedding. With her wedding date set, she and fiancé Carder pulled out all the stops: A stunning wedding palette, sprays of wildflowers, wagon wheels, whiskey barrels and even a miniature cow as a ring bearer! Grab your partner, gather 'round and let's explore this Utah love story.
It all started with a friendship sparked on social media. Next thing you know, Emily and Carder are getting ready to say "I Do" at a picturesque outdoor venue in Vernal, UT.
Emily selected a stunning mix of colors to nail the western wedding vibe: Turquoise, burnt orange, rust and dark wine. "It just felt like the colors matched perfectly," she said.
The color palette: Turquoise, burnt orange, rust and dark wine
The big day arrived: September 23, 2023. The morning of their wedding day started with a bit of a hiccup with local law enforcement. (What’s the wild west without the sheriff showing up?)
"After that it was amazing," Emily said. "Everything went so smoothly."
Emily walked down the aisle in a romantic lace wedding dress and bouquet of wildflowers, while her bridesmaids continued to set the scene in burnt orange and rust.
Meanwhile, Carder and groomsmen kept things rustic in tan vests, crisp white button downs and denim. When it was time to find wedding ties for the guys, Emily's future mother-in-law recommended TieMart, where her church also orders from. The couple added a pop of color with TieMart’s burnt orange neckties under the vests.
Here's a look at Emily and Carder with their entire wedding party. The groomsmen coordinated with the bridesmaids in burnt orange neckties.
Don’t forget the dads! The father of the bride and groom tied the color palette together by wearing turquoise ties beneath black vests.

But hold your horses, because a western wedding isn’t complete without a barnyard animal. Meet Stanley, Emily and Carder's unforgettable ring bearer. Turns out, a family friend breeds these adorable miniature highlands, so he was perfect for the role.

Looking back on their wedding day, the couple's advice to engaged couples echoed their own experience: "Stay calm and don't get overwhelmed. It's stressful but if you have your partner with you through the whole thing it's perfect and helps you stay calm," Emily said.
Thanks for sharing your wedding day with us, Emily and Carder. Enjoy your ride off into the sunset!

We get this question a lot: What’s the difference between our three “dusty” blue shades: Dusty blue, serene blue and mystic blue? Buckle up, because here's the lowdown on each of these cool blue hues.
Alright, so you might be wondering why we have not one, not two, but three shades of "dusty" blue. Well, take a scroll through different bridesmaid dress websites, and you'll see the dusty blue spectrum is pretty wide. There are tons of different blues out there and, since we're all about matching, one dusty blue tie just didn't cut it.
Quick heads up, every company has its own way of naming colors. So, what one shop calls dusty blue might not match another's. That's why relying solely on names when matching wedding colors isn't foolproof. Getting a real look at the colors is key. (By the way, keep reading for info on our free dusty blue color swatches for that in-real-life experience.)
Dusty Blue is the deepest of our "dusty" blues. Picture this: A rich, muted vibe with some cool gray tones. Yes, there are bridesmaid dresses that it nails the match game. But since it's this deep, versatile hue, our dusty blue ties harmonize with a bunch of wedding colors, even if it's not a spot-on match.
This is our dusty blue tie and it's the darkest of our three "dusty" blues.
Meet serene blue, the OG dusty blue in our lineup. We were offering this shade of tie way before dusty blue became the cool kid on the block. It's a medium blue, lighter than our dusty blue and with more saturation than mystic blue. It's looks similar to our mystic blue, especially in terms of brightness, until you hold a serene blue tie near it. Then, you'll definitely spot the difference.
Our serene blue is the brightest of our "dusty" blues.
At first glance, you’ll definitely think dusty blue when you see our mystic blue ties in real life. It's a muted, hazy blue—not too light, not too dark. Mystic blue is kind of like serene blue, but it learns towards more of a grayish or even a slightly greenish tint.
Our mystic blue tie is a muted and hazy blue.
We know how tricky it is to match colors from a screen, especially with all the variations of a shade like dusty blue. That's where our lifesaver comes in—free color swatches. We've always offered our customers these because who wants the headache of returns and exchanges when you're planning a wedding. Our free color swatches let you see the colors (and fabric) in real life before committing to an order.
Now, as much as we'd love to send out our entire rainbow of swatches, that's just not practical. (We have a ton of tie colors!) So, we've capped it at two color swatches per person. However, we always include extra shades. If you request dusty blue and serene blue, we’re going to include mystic blue for you, too. And if you need more colors, just let us know in the comment box on the request form.
Quick note: Free color swatches are only available if you're in the U.S. or Canada.
If you're in a time crunch and can't order swatches, or want a dusty blue pattern, check out our steel blue member floral. It's a mix of lighter and darker blues with a hint of iridescence, so when the light hits it the colors do a cool little dance.
With all these shades, it meshes perfectly with most of those "dusty" blue choices out there. This tie is really, really popular right now and happens to be a personal favorite of ours. You can pick it up in different necktie widths, bow ties, pocket squares and even a ring bearer bow tie. (We have a must-see post on wedding tie styles in case you aren't quite sure which tie suits your groomsmen best.)
Oh, and if you're on the hunt for solid ties for the wedding, this pattern's BFF is serene blue. Just a heads up!
Our steel blue member floral combines several dusty blue hues.
Alright, so we said dusty blue is a hit for weddings, but we're not just talking the talk. Here are snapshots of real TieMart customers wearing our shades of dusty blue on their wedding day.

Meet Tiffany and Joe, a couple whose modern-day love story started with a digital connection—a direct message on social media. Their journey continued when Joe later proposed on the shores of Clearwater, FL.
Tiffany said "Yes!" to his beachside proposal, and they headed to a local bar to celebrate. And if the day wasn’t memorable enough, the couple was certainly surprised when they bumped into a famous American professional wrestler and pop culture icon. What a story to share!
Back at home, it was time to start planning the big day. With taupe and black as their wedding colors, Tiffany and Joe chose a timeless and elegant palette. Tiffany confessed, "I like neutral colors and Joe looks good in all black."
Since they met online, it’s certainly no surprise that this couple headed to the Internet when it was time to buy all ten groomsmen ties. After finding TieMart, they requested free color swatches to match their wedding colors in person. (Even neutrals can be difficult to match from a screen.)
Tiffany and Joe found ties to match their bridesmaid dresses by requesting free color swatches from TieMart.
An assortment of tan, beige and taupe swatches arrived and TieMart’s latte premium ties were a match. "[The] ties matched the bridesmaids dresses perfect and were great quality," Tiffany said.
Tiffany and Joe chose slim ties for the groomsmen, which are a modern but not too skinny size at 2.5-inches wide. Joe would wear the same width of tie, but in solid black to offset him from the group.
The couple purchased latte slim ties for the groomsmen, while the groom would be offset in a black slim tie.
Now, let's jump ahead to June 17, 2023, Tiffany and Joe's wedding day. With their nearest and dearest in attendance, along with a whopping 22 members in their wedding party, they said their "I dos" in Spearfish, SD. Tiffany described the day as "beautiful" thanks to the perfect weather and the best people in their lives there to celebrate with them.

For engaged couples knee-deep in wedding planning right now, Tiffany and Joe offer some sound advice. Tiffany suggests, "Don’t stress about the small stuff. Stay organized during wedding planning. And enjoy the big day!"

Love stories often begin in the most unexpected places, and for LaShawn and Nathan it all started at his cousin’s beauty salon. As LaShawn sat getting her hair done, her future was about to change.
Jump ahead to the proposal. Nathan outdid himself by planning an intimate surprise dinner. LaShawn’s son flew in for the occasion and joined her father and closest friends. We won’t keep you waiting: It was a yes!
It was time to begin wedding planning and the couple decided on a destination wedding. The big day would take place at an all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
LaShawn and Nathan’s wedding day arrived on August 19, 2023. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected guest: A thunderstorm.
Despite the weather, the resort’s team rallied. The ceremony was held indoors in a secluded chapel on site, complete with colorful stained glass, gorgeous wooden pews, rustic chandeliers and lush surroundings.
A thunderstorm kept LaShawn and Nathan's wedding ceremony indoors.
The couple added personal touches to their wedding day, like a burnt orange, ivory and tan color palette with a splash of gold. (Think tropical sunsets and sandy beaches.)
To incorporate the wedding colors, the five groomsmen wore matching burnt orange neckties, pocket squares and flower lapel pins, which LaShawn found from TieMart via an internet search.
The groomsmen wore burnt orange accessories.
Nathan stood out in the same style of necktie and pocket square from TieMart, but in a timeless ivory hue instead.
The groom wore a darker tan suit and ivory necktie.
Now enjoying life as a newlywed, LaShawn advises couples in the midst of wedding planning to not let anyone change your vision of their day.

Once upon a time, in a college far, far away (okay, it was Central Methodist University in Missouri), two students crossed paths on their university’s track team. Little did they know that this was the beginning of their love story.
Fast forward to a Fourth of July celebration in Hot Springs, AR where our couple, Abbie and Hayden, spent the day with family at the picturesque Garvan Woodland Gardens. Abbie had no idea a proposal was part of the plan. Like any fairy tale, it was a yes, of course.
The countdown to the big day began. On June 24, 2023, Abbie and Hayden exchanged vows at the elegant but rustic Milestones Barn in Warrensburg, MO.
Here's Abbie and Hayden on their June 24 wedding day.
It wouldn’t be a Missouri summer without a bit of heat, but despite the sizzling temperature the day was perfect from start to finish.
Wedding guests were greeted by a palette of blush pink, white and so much greenery, which complemented the natural surroundings.
To enhance the look, the eight bridesmaids wore flowing blush pink dresses and carried stunning bouquets to match.

Meanwhile, the groom, eight groomsmen and two ushers looked dashing in gray suits, blush pink slim ties and brown shoes. Blush pink and gray argyle socks hidden under their pant legs tied the entire color scheme together.
Hayden and his groomsmen walked down the aisle in blush pink and gray argyle socks from TieMart.
Congrats to Abbie and Hayden on your happily ever after. Thank you again for sharing your wedding story with us!

The summer wedding season is wrapping up, and that means it’s time to talk about fall!
Expect wedding colors to turn earthy, romantic and even a bit moody this year. Shades are getting darker and accented with new hues. Other trends (like greens) are gaining popularity as we approach the start of autumn.
Take a look. These are the wedding colors of fall ‘22.
Burnt orange has surprised us this year. This deep orange hue is usually reserved for fall weddings, but it has been popular all year. Nonetheless, fall will continue to be big for burnt orange. This nature-inspired color can be worn with crisp navy blue or dark gray groomsmen suits. Accent the hue with golden yellow, hunter green, burgundy or even a blue-green teal shade like oasis.
Pair burnt orange wedding ties with gray groomsmen suits and a burgundy boutonniere.
Greens are such a popular trend for weddings right now. It started with the greenery trend, adding more botanicals to wedding bouquets, boutonnieres and floral arrangements. But these green shades have moved into bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen accessories. Earthy greens like sage and eucalyptus (which has subtle blue tones) have gained popularity all year and certainly blend with fall hues.
Try a fall combo of earthy sage wedding ties with dark gray suits and a burgundy or white boutonniere.
Besides sage, similarly hued darker greens like olive, fern and hunter green will be popular this fall as well. You may want to consider these colors as accents to a sage wedding. Or deepen the look with burgundy accents.
Like burnt orange, burgundy is another color we now see worn year round for weddings. But this color shines for the changing seasons. While it can certainly stand on its own, there are a lot of ways to accent burgundy in fall. Golds, greens, blush and navy add to its richness.
Pair burgundy wedding ties with navy blue or gray groomsmen suits in fall. Consider an accent like a blush pink boutonniere and touch of greenery.
Certainly, there are more colors to wear for a fall wedding besides burnt orange, sage and burgundy. Here are a few more hues that will be making the rounds this fall.
Dusty blues, dusty pinks (like blush) and dusty purples are, without a doubt, the most popular wedding colors right now, regardless of the time of year. These not-so-bright hues transcend seasons, whether they’re added as wedding accents or the main wedding color.
For some cold-weather inspiration, pair dusty blue with darker navys or a touch of burgundy. Blush pink can be mixed with dark reds like burgundy and dark greens like hunter green. Dusty purples can be paired with sage or darker greens as well. However, in fall rich eggplant purple (think the purple version of burgundy) gains popularity and is the perfect way to add some autumn vibes to those lighter dusty purples. The tone of eggplant is similar to dusty purples (i.e. typically more red-hued), so they easily pair together.
For fall, complement a dusty blue tie with navy blue groomsmen suits and a touch of burgundy.
Jewel tones enhance the colors of fall, especially if your wedding is set for that sweet spot when leaves are changing and quite vibrant. Mix together rich, dark saturated colors like oasis, navy blue, eggplant and hunter green for a wedding palette that’s on-trend, but perhaps not as popular as some of the above combinations. (Which can sometimes be a good thing if your fall is packed with friend's weddings, too.)
Embrace the richness of fall with jewel tones, like this oasis bow tie, a navy blue groomsmen suit and a deep purple accent.
Persimmon is a color similar to burnt orange, but with more red tones. This color exudes natural boho vibes, and pairing it with gray, tan, white and cream will add to this rustic fall feel. Or, enhance the shade with rich hues like burgundy and hunter green, plus navy blue groomsmen suits.
A persimmon tie with a gray or tan groomsmen suit and white accents creates a rustic fall look.
As we round out the last few weeks of summer, it’s time to get serious about those fall weddings. The bright colors we were adding to our carts and outfits the last couple months will soon be replaced by darker, richer shades like burnt orange, burgundy and sage green, among others. Even if your fall wedding isn’t until 2023 or beyond, take note. Wedding color trends tend to stick around for several years, with minor adjustments, so what is in this year won’t go out of date by next year.

the Wedding Guide by TieMart
Colleen and Rob met online in 2019. Two years later on a beach vacation (with extended family) Rob popped the question. It was a yes, of course, and the couple spent the next year planning their dream wedding.
With the location and date set—Mount Joy, PA and April 9, 2022—it was time to select wedding colors. The couple knew the weather would be unpredictable given their wedding date. (In Pennsylvania, anything from snow to unseasonable warmth is possible in early spring.)
Colleen and Rob decided upon white, sky blue, and navy blue for their wedding colors. Simple and versatile for whatever forecast the day would bring.
The couple began searching online for affordable ties to match their blue bridesmaid dresses. This led them to TieMart and their free color swatches. TieMart mailed an assortment of light and dark blue fabric color samples, one of which was ultimately what the groomsmen would wear. (More on that color in a bit.)
Finally, Colleen and Rob’s wedding day arrived and they were correct to question the weather. Rain moved the ceremony indoors. Despite the surprise, their wedding day was everything they could have dreamed of, starting with a relaxing breakfast for two and ending with dancing well into the night.
Of course, a lot happened between morning and midnight. After breakfast, Colleen and Rob took time to get ready with their wedding parties. The six groomsmen and three junior groomsmen put on slim-width serene ties to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. (They guys also wore navy blue socks from TieMart, which matched their suits perfectly.)
To set his look apart and “for a little extra fun,” Rob wore a blue floral tie on his wedding day. The multiple blue shades in the necktie pattern coordinated with the wedding, while the modern 2.5-inch width matched the size of the groomsmen’s ties.
Once ready, a break in the rain allowed the couple to have their first look outdoors, followed by their formal wedding portraits and, finally, the ceremony.
Even with the new indoor location, a touch of the outdoors found its way to the wedding. A cardinal sat outside a window during the entire ceremony, which Colleen and Rob credited as a sign from their late grandmothers.
After saying their I Dos, post-ceremony activities included cocktails, a six-course meal, dancing and basking in that newlywed glow.
Congrats, Colleen and Rob!

Alicia and Dana were long-time friends before their relationship turned romantic. The bride was best friends with the groom’s sister, and over the years a romance blossomed. Alicia shared, “He popped the question at home in front of my daughter and my mom, after about a year of dating. Very low key and sweet.”
The couple hosted an intimate May wedding with friends and close family in Painesville, OH. They chose pink and navy for their colors, a classic combination! With pink bridesmaid dresses already selected, Alicia found TieMart’s cameo pink michael glen plaid ties and pocket squares for the groomsmen via an internet search. According to Alicia, these were “the perfect ties to complete our desired look.”
Dana wore this cameo pink plaid tie on his wedding day, which complemented the bridesmaid dresses.
Reflecting back on their wedding, Alicia calls the day perfect and there is absolutely nothing they would change about it.
We are so pleased to have been part of your special day, Alicia and Dana! Thank you for trusting TieMart for your wedding needs.

It's almost the biggest date night of the year: Valentine's Day. This year, get inspired by your upcoming nuptials when planning his date night outfit. After all, the last Valentine's Day before your wedding is a big one. So go all out! Make those reservations and prepare to dress up: Collared shirt, slacks and a tie (of course).
Step one is to wear your favorite dress shirt and a great-fitting pair of slacks or pants. Then, make the night extra special by selecting a tie that incorporates your wedding colors—but is different from what you'll actually be wearing the day of.
Pattern and striped ties are a great way to do this! Look for a paisley or floral tie that contains your color in the pattern. This might be a small piece of the paisley or an individual flower.
Example: There are several different colors on this floral tie. However, the color that pops is dusty blue—a muted blue that is quite popular for weddings right now. Floral ties are versatile, too. They can be worn casually (you can even wear it with jeans) or take it dressier with black slacks that will match the tie's background.
This paisley tie is the one to wear if you're planning a purple wedding. Subtle purples are trending for weddings right now, and this tie contains a few of those hues: Eggplant and a lighter wisteria/lavender color. The tie has a dressier feel, so we don't recommend wearing it with denim. However, it will stun when paired with black or gray slacks.
Similary, a striped tie might have one stripe that's your wedding color, like the striped tie below. This petal and navy blue striped tie is a bolder choice, but is the perfect way to get excited for an upcoming blush pink wedding this Valentine's Day. Wear it dressier with navy blue or gray slacks. For a more casual feel, it will look great with khakis and a white button down.
The burgundy tie below features a tone-on-tone look, so it's completely burgundy. Despite it possibly being 100% your wedding colors, it doesn't scream "I'm a wedding tie". In fact, we like the idea of wearing this tie to other special occasions, too: The rehearsal dinner, wedding anniversaries and other milestone moments to come. This is a more formal tie, so wear it with black, gray or navy blue slacks.
Whether you're going out for a romantic dinner or staying in to cook together, make this Valentine's Day extra special by mixing your upcoming wedding colors into your outfit. (And what better way to test out how they look than by sporting them on your night out?) Shop floral, paisley and striped ties at TieMart to find the perfect date-night look and get excited for your upcoming wedding day.

It's 2022 and the color of the year is very peri (aka periwinkle). This crisp hue is a combination of purple and blue. Dusty blues and muted purples have been popular wedding colors in recent years, so we won't be surprised to see more couples leaning towards a combination of these colors (aka periwinkle) for their 2022 weddings.
This won't be the first time periwinkle made its way around the wedding scene. In fact, it was a popular color choice in the early to late 2000s. Since everything is new again, it does seem about time for this hue to make its return.
If your wedding day is in the first quarter of 2022, it might take time for vendors to add a true periwinkle back into their stock. However, there are still a couple ways to incorporate periwinkle into your wedding. Let's take a look.
First, we must realize that periwinkle is actually a flower. This is where the color is coming from. For those with wedding dates quickly approaching, it still may be possible for your florist to add the flower to your arrangement. Since periwinkle is a smaller flower, it's typically used as an accent around larger blooms. Most often, we see periwinkle added to bouquets with white, ivory, purple or blue flowers—especially with those dusty blue and purple florals. Don't be afraid to show off the greenery. Periwinkle and green are complimentary.
If you can't get your hands on perwinkle wedding accessories yet, there are a few hues that will give your wedding day a similar look. Cornflower (sometimes called carolina blue or steel blue) is a similar hue we're already seeing for weddings, and it's readily available from many wedding vendors. It's close to periwinkle in terms of lightness and brightness, but with more blue than purple. (And periwinkle flowers coordinate with this color, too.)
This cornflower tie is similar to periwinkle, but with more blue tones than purple.
Besides pinning to your wedding board, you can start planning your periwinkle themed wedding by looking at colors in real life. TieMart offers free color swatches from its extensive line of solid and pattern ties. Select up to two free colors (like cornflower and lilac) and similar colors will automatically be included. Better yet, let TieMart know in the comment box that you're matching periwinkle so swatches can be fine-tuned to your wedding. Swatches are available free to customers in the USA and Canada and are mailed the next business day via First-Class Mail.

These newlyweds wanted a wedding that was fun and relaxed. So they planned a day that was all about their favorite things, from the wedding colors to the carnival-style food.
Kasey and Nathan are college sweethearts. After being introduced by Nathan’s sister, two and a half years later they were engaged and ready to start wedding planning!
These two make wedding planning look easy, but their secret was keeping the day personal by including their likes, interests and other meaningful details. Starting with wedding colors, Kasey and Nathan kept things simple and chose their favorite colors. Luckily, the light blue, navy, green and white color scheme coordinated flawlessly.
Kasey and Nathan highlighted Nathan’s favorite color, green, in his and his groomsmen’s bow ties. The guys paired TieMart’s mint green emma floral pattern bow ties with fitted suits and brown loafers. The subtle floral bow tie pattern was the perfect complement to the guys’ boutonnieres.
Kasey and Nathan on their wedding day.
When it came time for the reception, they kept the decor personal and meaningful. There were custom street signs with their names, wedding photos from extended family and an arbor built by Kasey’s dad.
Now this is where the wedding REALLY got fun. Kasey and Nathan love carnival food, so rather than a formal, sit-down dinner they served their guests corndogs, mini hot dogs, sliders, french fries, a cookie bar and other finger foods.
As if the meal wasn’t memorable enough, the couple asked Nathan’s college friends to be their wedding band. During the reception, Nathan even joined the group and sang to Kasey.
At the end of the night, Kasey and Nathan left in style with fun and colorful confetti blasting into the air. Now that’s an exit!

Leanne and Austin’s wedding story begins 6 years ago at church, where the two first met. Fast forward to a December proposal and it was time to plan a wedding.
Word of mouth brought Leanne to TieMart for wedding ties after a friend's recommendation. The couple began their wedding tie search by requesting free color swatches.
Leanne and Austin’s swatch request was memorable because they were pairing dusty blue ties and flowers with lavender and plum bridesmaid dresses. Dusty blue is one of the most popular wedding colors in 2021. While the color has been trending for a couple years, it is just now starting to be mixed and matched with other shades, like pinks, purples and greens.
After receiving the fabric swatches and confirming that TieMart’s dusty blue ties would match their wedding flowers, it was time to buy wedding ties. Leanne and Austin purchased dusty blue bow ties and dark navy blue suspenders for the groomsmen. Austin stood out in a matching dusty blue necktie, which he wore under a brown herringbone vest.
Austin on his wedding day.
The couple’s big day was May 8, 2021. Wedding flowers brought the dusty blue and purple color scheme together seamlessly. Leanne and her bridesmaid’s bouquets featured stems of gorgeous dusty blue and purple flowers, while Austin and his groomsmen’s boutonnières incorporated those dusty blue flowers to match their ties.
The groomsmen coordinated with Austin and wore dusty blue bow ties with dark navy blue suspenders.
One month after her wedding, Leanne shared advice for other couples in the wedding planning stage. ”Take your time. Enjoy your day. You only get one.”

There's an age gap between a ring bearer and a groomsman. So when someone special to you falls within this range, it can be difficult to include them in your wedding day. Enter the junior groomsman. As couples include their younger siblings, nephews and own children, the junior groomsman is becoming more commonplace. Let's take a look at the role of the junior groomsman, and how it's a little different from that of a groomsman.
There is no set age for a junior groomsman. Typically, it’s about age 9 to the early teens. The definition of a junior groomsman is a member of a wedding party who is too old to be a ring bearer but too young to be a groomsman. So as long as the child falls in that range, he would be considered a junior groomsman.
A junior groomsman has much of the same duties as the groomsmen, with a few exceptions. Unless a PG event is specifically planned, the junior groomsman usually doesn’t partake in bachelor party planning or attending. He does attend the wedding rehearsal, along with the rest of your wedding party. On the wedding day, a junior groomsman might also help supervise the flower girl and ring bearer. If a dog is part of the wedding day, the junior groomsman is a great person to put in charge of the pup. A junior groomsman can definitely help guests find their seats if there are no official wedding ushers.
We can all picture bridesmaids and groomsmen walking down the aisle together. But a common question is who the junior groomsman walks with. If the wedding party includes a junior bridesmaid, then the junior groomsman should definitely walk down the aisle with her. If not, there are still a few options. A junior groomsman could walk alone behind the flower girl and ring bearer, almost as a supervisor to keep those kiddos headed in the right direction. He could also escort the flower girl if there is no ring bearer in the wedding party. Sometimes the junior groomsman walks alone or with a bridesmaid. (It’s better to have a junior groomsman walk with a bridesmaid than to have just one bridesmaid walk alone.)
Just because the word junior is in his name, doesn’t mean he can’t stand with the rest of the guys. A junior groomsman will typically stand with the groomsmen during a wedding ceremony. Unlike a ring bearer who is usually too young to stand still for an extended period of time, a junior groomsman is old enough to stay in place for the ceremony. The junior groomsman usually stands at the end of the groomsmen, farthest from the groom, during the wedding. This is mainly for aesthetic purposes. Now if the junior groomsman is also the junior best man, then he’s going to stand in the same place the best man would, next to the groom. Once it’s time for pictures with the wedding party, we usually see the junior groomsman front and center among the groomsmen. (Again, aesthetics.)
Most junior groomsman will wear the exact same, or close to the same, attire as the groomsmen. The same suit or tux, same tie style and tie color, same style of shoes, etc. There might be some slight variation if the groomsmen’s suits do not come in the junior groomsman’s size. Perhaps he’ll wear a vest instead of a suit jacket in this case.
The junior groomsman’s attire should be more mature than the ring bearer's. The necktie is a big part of this. It’s popular for groomsmen to wear neckties while ring bearers wear bow ties. In this case, the junior groomsman should match the groomsmen and wear a necktie as well.
As long as it’s age appropriate, a junior groomsman can be asked to be a part of a wedding party the same way as the other groomsmen. If that's not the case, then create something special for the young man. Perhaps a gift box of sweets that includes a Ring Pop® and box of Junior Mints® along with a note asking him to join your wedding party. If the junior groomsman to-be is on the younger side, he'll get a kick out of a top secret mission box. Get creative and create a message that he must decode, asking him to be the junior groomsman. And hey, there's nothing wrong with a simple card or in-person invite to be a part of the big day, too.
Again, it comes down to age appropriateness as to whether you can gift your junior groomsman the same thing as the groomsmen. (Meaning, he can't have alcohol or cigars and he shouldn't have a weapon, even if it's for display.) If the young man is a sports fan, there are a number of places that engrave footballs and baseballs with names and other info. More traditional keepsakes are common wedding party gifts, so you can always take that route. However, realize that a 10-year-old boy might not appreciate an engraved money clip or pocket watch the same way the rest of the groomsmen would. So perhaps add on something small just for him, like a toy.
The role of junior groomsman is a great way to incorporate a younger sibling, nephew or child on your wedding day. A junior groomsman falls between the ages of a groomsmen and a ring bearer. He takes on many of the same roles as the groomsmen at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. Take cues from the groomsmen for his attire and be sure to show your appreciation for him with a gift.

The 2020 wedding season wasn’t what anyone expected. Like countless other couples, a global pandemic forced Kate and Andy to postpone their wedding plans. Despite their wedding day being turned upside down, the couple is now married and looking forward to celebrating with their friends and family. Let’s take a quick look at how they replanned their 2020 wedding.
Kate and Andy first met on an online dating site. They were a match from the start, but living two hours apart wasn’t ideal.
“We made it work!” Kate said.
Fast forward to a July 4th hike in North Carolina. At the top of the mountain, surrounded by stunning views, Andy got down on one knee and proposed.
“I said yes!” Kate said. “It is something we’ll never forget.”
Kate and Andy got started planning a 200-person wedding in Greenville, South Carolina. The big day with family and friends should have been September 12, 2020, but those plans were put on hold. Instead, the couple was married at their church, sans guests.
“We decided to move ahead now and then have a big party late next year when it’s safe,” Kate said.
Andy still wore his originally purchased burgundy wedding tie to their ceremony. It represented the colors of their team—the South Carolina Gamecocks. (Their wedding colors were set to be garnet and black.)
2020 couples are definitely ones to look to for advice on wedding planning, and Kate’s advice is spot on.
“Don’t sweat the small stuff.” She said. “And stick to a budget!”

The wedding scene has temporarily changed. Large and elaborate ballroom weddings are on hold or taking place on a much smaller scale. If you’ve received an invite to one of these newly dubbed micro weddings, you probably have questions. In fact, you might be wondering what to wear. The backyard wedding is a bit more casual, but that doesn’t mean carefree. So let’s take a look at what to wear to a backyard wedding, and how to decipher the dress code.
First things first. If you received a NEW invite for a replanned wedding, take a look at it again. (To verify, you’re NOT looking at the original invite for their church and reception hall wedding. Any info on that invite is old news.) A dress code might be right there on the invite. If it’s not, check for a wedding website. This is a common place to mention a dress code, too.
If you do indeed find a reference to a dress code, that’s awesome, and it’s time to interpret the dress code. Invites sometimes say “come as you are,” especially for backyard weddings. This means that the wedding is going to be casual, no formal attire needed. Still, remember that this is a wedding. There will probably be photographs taken and, since the guest list is limited, you can expect to make an appearance in those wedding pictures. Do the bride and groom’s wedding album a favor and keep your outfit from being sloppy. Wear a collared shirt, even if it’s a polo or casual button down. If you’re going to wear denim, make sure it’s your darkest pair of blue jeans. There’s nothing wrong with swapping those jeans for a pair of khakis either.
Sometimes a dress code includes the word “optional.” This means that it’s the suggested dress code for the event, but it’s not mandatory. Typically you’ll see “black tie optional” on an invite. This means that a tuxedo is requested, but it’s okay to wear a black suit if you don’t have a tux available. (It does not mean it’s okay to show up without a jacket though.)
Now if you fail at finding a specific dress code on the invite and wedding website, look at the time of the ceremony. Generally, the earlier the wedding the less formal the dress code. An evening wedding is more formal than a morning wedding, even in an intimate setting. Bring a jacket to a 6 pm wedding. A 10 am wedding may not warrant a suit and black tie, but a bright and cheerful necktie and collared shirt is appropriate. Keep reading for ways to put together a fool-proof outfit.
So you’ve studied the (new) invite and you’re still not sure what to wear. Worry not, there’s a go-to backyard wedding dress code. Start by skipping the suit. There’s a chance that the groom will be dressing more casually than a suit and you don’t want to overdress that groom.
The key to your outfit is putting on these layers: A dress shirt, slacks, sport coat, necktie and (optional) suspenders. You’re going to look put together wearing these pieces, but not overly formal. So why are we saying layers? Because if you show up and realize you are overdressed, you can strategically remove a layer or two until you fit the scene. Here are your outfit options, based on the original layers:
Wear a pair of suspenders under your sport coat. If you remove your jacket for a more casual look, the suspenders give that backyard wedding vibe.
Still debating what to wear? Well, let’s be honest here. The only people invited to micro weddings these days are those who mean the most to the bride and groom. (And that’s you.) You’re already pretty close to one of the two, thus it’s okay to simply ask their opinion of what you should wear. Couples are stressed these days, so if you get a vague answer, followup by asking what they will be wearing. You want your level of formality to match the bride and groom's, so you’re looking to see if they are wearing their original wedding day outfits or if they have scaled back to something more casual.
If the groom is still wearing a tuxedo or suit, then definitely wear a suit and tie to the backyard wedding. If the groom has taken his wedding day look more casual, you should too. Don’t wear a suit if the groom isn’t, but don’t assume casual means jeans and a t-shirt without getting more details. Casual could mean a collared shirt and slacks, it could be a sport coat or maybe even jeans.
Now if the groom says he’s wearing jeans, ask what else he’s wearing. Jeans and a sport coat is dressier than jeans and a t-shirt. If the groom is in fact wearing jeans and a tee, go for it and wear the same. Just make sure your clothes are clean and free of holes. As far as your t-shirt, select a neutral color without any writing or logo on it. If you don’t have any plain t-shirts, select a polo shirt instead.
If you know the groom is wearing a tuxedo or suit to his backyard wedding, definitely wear a suit and tie to the ceremony.
Don’t forget that a backyard wedding is, in fact, outside. In today’s world, you won’t be heading inside if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Although the couple is likely making plans for bad weather (tents, portable heaters, etc.), you should plan for the weather as well. Wear shoes that can stand up to the elements. (No, this doesn’t mean rain boots or sneakers. Just make sure your loafers are waterproof.) Bring an umbrella and/or trench coat if it looks like rain. Wear an overcoat for cooler temps. If it’s cold enough to wear a hat, leave the beanie at home. Instead, make this the year that you start wearing hats. You might be surprised at how much you like wearing a flat cap, trilby or fedora.
The last piece to your backyard wedding attire is, of course, a face mask. Don’t be the guy that shows up without a mask. The bride and groom already changed their wedding plans due to a global health crisis and probably want everyone to stay safe and healthy on their wedding day. You might already social distance with everyone attending the wedding, but don’t forget that there could be caterers, florists, wedding planners, photographers and an officiant around, too. Throw a mask in your pocket and you’re all set to (safely) attend the backyard wedding, 2020 style.

This Idaho couple planned a stress-free outdoor wedding. And then it rained. Despite the weather, their wedding colors were the only thing blue that day.
Danielle and Cayd’s romance started well before their wedding day. These middle school sweethearts met in seventh grade science class when Cayd persistently asked Danielle to go on a “date” with him. After three tries, Danielle finally gave in.
Fast forward to a family camping trip years later where Cayd got down on one knee and asked Danielle to marry him. This time, it only took one shot for Danielle to say YES!
Danielle and Cayd were ahead of their time when they chose dusty blue and blush pink for their wedding colors in 2019. Blush pink weddings were definitely trending, but few couples (or wedding companies) had dusty blue on their minds.
“It was actually hard to find ideas in the color dusty blue but everything came together perfectly,” Danielle said.
When it came time to purchase groomsmen neckties, Danielle and Cayd knew ties could be expensive. An online search lead them to TieMart, whose low prices were a pleasant surprise.
“[TieMart] had SO SO many colors and styles so instantly I loved it. Plus you were less expensive than every where else and when planning a wedding if you can save somewhere, do it,“ Danielle said.
Danielle and Cayd purchased serene premium solid color neckties for their groomsmen. The color matched their bridesmaids’ dusty blue dresses perfectly. They decided to put their dads in something a little different, so the father of the bride and groom wore navy blue ties.
Finally, Danielle and Cayd’s wedding day arrived: June 23. As Danielle and Cayd were getting ready, it started to rain. And they were having an OUTDOOR wedding, you guys! Luckily, things cleared up for the ceremony. It started raining again just as the outdoor dance floor opened, but that didn’t stop anyone from dancing the night away. According to Danielle, she had never seen so many people on a dance floor.
Now that her wedding day has come and gone, Danielle calls wedding planning one of the funnest moments of her life. She admits it can get stressful, but hopes other couples will just have fun on their wedding day.
“Forget about if you remembered someone’s table number card; it doesn’t matter now,” Danielle advises. “Go marry the love of your life and enjoy every second of it because you’ll miss it when it’s over.”

Truth: The easiest way to select groomsmen attire is to exactly match the ties to the bridesmaids’ dresses.
Reality: This can look prom-y.
Quick definition of prom-y: Looking like you are going to prom. Think teenage girl in a pink puffy dress. Teenage boy in a tux and matching pink bow tie. Let’s finish things off with a matching pink corsage and boutonniere.
Don't worry, there are ways to dress your groomsmen and look like adults. Let's take a look.
This one is easy if your wedding has an accent color. Typically, bridesmaids wear dresses in the main wedding color, so we're going to assume this here. (Apologies if we're wrong!)
While the ladies are wearing that main wedding color, choose ties and accessories for the guys in the accent color. With all your guys and gals together at the alter, this will really show off your complete wedding theme.
Blush Pink Slim Solid Color Necktie
Wait, aren't coordinating colors the same as accent colors? Not necessarily.
Typically your accent colors are in a different color family than your main wedding color. Dusty blue and burgundy, blush pink and sage green, eggplant purple and burnt orange. You get it.
The easiest way to select a coordinating color is to select a different shade in the same color family.
Let's explain. So if your bridesmaids are wearing dusty blue, look for light blue or navy blue ties for the groomsmen. Wisteria purple dresses? Try a lilac or darker lapis for the guys' ties.
The key here is to keep the tone of the colors the same. Neon green doesn't coordinate with sage green, folks.
Dusty Blue Premium Bow Tie
Warning: This is the most difficult option we're telling you about.
Good news: It's really not hard.
Pattern ties are the best way to add your wedding color to the groomsmen's outfits, without that prom-y look. The pattern can incorporate A LOT of your wedding color, or just a touch. Either way, your guys won't look prom-y.
However, there are two mistakes we see couples make when trying to find patterned wedding ties. Here they are:
Mistake #1: Looking for a pattern tie that incorporates every single one of your wedding colors.
Just because it's a pattern tie doesn't mean it needs to include your main wedding color and all of your accents. If you can find a pattern that incorporates all of your wedding colors, consider yourself lucky.
Otherwise, look for patterns with touches of your main wedding color or an accent color. It could be the main color of the tie, or a simple stripe in the tie.
If you really want to add more of your wedding colors to your groomsmen's outfits, add solid color pocket squares. Your choice whether it matches a color in the tie or pulls in one of those accent colors. Either way, your guys won't look prom-y. We promise!
Mistake #2: Passing on pattern ties that include colors not in your wedding colors.
So you found the perfect patterned wedding tie, but it has a color in it that's not part of your wedding. Quick answer: So what.
When you put the tie near your wedding colors, your wedding colors are what will stand out. (Even if it's not the main color of the tie.)
Case in point: Floral wedding ties. Floral wedding ties are trending right now. And, why not?! They are gorgeous. But most of the floral ties out there are vibrant and full of multiple colors. Pinks, blues, greens, orange. You get it. Guess what color will stand out at your dusty blue wedding? (Did you guess the blues? Because you're right.)
As long as something in the tie matches your wedding colors, the average person isn't even going to realize your groomsmen's floral ties had orange flowers in it, too.
Coral Clara Paisley Necktie
Here's a great option if you're worried about your wedding photos looking outdated in 10...20...30...50 years. Neutrals!
It doesn't matter what color your bridesmaids are wearing. A neutral tie will match their dresses.
Black ties and ivory ties are most popular styles for groomsmen right now. Consider silver (gray) ties or white ties, too.
Don't forget about brown, beige, tan or champagne ties. These earthtone hues go well with those popular dusty wedding colors. (Looking at you, dusty blue!)
Gray Premium Solid Color Necktie
Gasp! We're a tie company so this one is a bit hard to swallow. But, let's face it, not every groomsman wears a tie to a wedding. (And yes, we've seen some great tie-less groomsmen outfits.)
So if you do skip the groomsmen tie, you can add any of the above suggestions to the guys' pocket squares or boutonniere elements.
And honestly, you can even match that pocket square to the bridesmaid dress color without looking prom-y. The lack of tie is enough to keep your groomsmen from looking like they are headed to a school dance.
Bright Coral and Navy Blue Striped Pocket Square
So you read all these ideas but, quite frankly, you still want your groomsmen wearing solid color wedding ties that match the bridesmaids.
Here's our way to do this and avoid looking like you're headed to prom: Mismatched groomsmen attire.
Yup, mismatch the groomsmen's clothing pieces. There are a couple ways to do this.
Set on gray suits or vests for the guys? Good! Our favorite way to mismatch groomsmen styles is to divide the groomsmen in half. They all wear the same style of formalwear, be it a suit or vest. But some wear it in a lighter gray and some wear it in a darker gray.
If your guys are wearing navy or black, you can also mismatch their clothing pieces instead. Half in a three-piece suit (jacket, vest and pants). Put the other half in the same vest and pants, but no jacket.
The key to this look is that the guys are still wearing the same clothing pieces, just in different colors or pieces. (Keep their dress shirts the same, too.)
Once you start mixing and matching different brands, styles or cuts of clothing, your wedding party will start to look like a group of random wedding guests.
Congrats! You're now an expert on avoiding the prom-y wedding look. Bookmark our site (www.tiemart.com) and come on back when you're ready to buy groomsmen ties. TieMart offers wedding neckties, bow ties, pocket squares, socks and suspenders for the groom, groomsmen and ring bearers, too. There's no denying it. Blush pink has been the hottest wedding color of the twentyteens, and it's still going strong. This light, muted pink/beige shade is soft and romantic. Custom sock labels are the latest trend hitting the wedding scene. From the groom to the father of the bride, here at TieMart we're making it easy to customize socks for each member of your wedding party with our free printable sock labels.
This is an easy DIY wedding project you can complete in less than an hour. Here's what you'll need:
Click to download the free wedding sock labels. The file includes sock labels for the groom, best man, groomsman, usher, ring bearer, father of the bride and father of the groom.
Print the labels needed for your wedding party. Before you print on cardstock, we recommend doing a test print on standard printer paper just to make sure the file prints correctly. (It's designed to print in landscape mode.)
Cut the labels apart. A paper trimmer is definitely the easiest way to ensure a straight line, but a ruler, pencil and scissors will do the trick, too. The length of the paper does not need to be cut. We recommend a height of just under 3.25-inches.
Remove any previous sock labels and wrap the new one around the socks, securing in the back. We used double-sided tape, but paper glue or a stapler will work too.
Told you that was easy; you're done! Here's another link to those free wedding sock labels in case you missed it.

It’s true. Most couples have their groomsmen rent a suit or tux for their wedding day.
When you go to the tux shop, groomsmen’s accessories are usually included or available as an add-on. We’re talking the tie, pocket square, shoes, even down to their socks and belt.
So why in the world would you go elsewhere and buy wedding ties for your groomsmen when it already comes with the tux?
Believe it our not, every year thousands of our customers do.
Here’s why.
You head to the tux shop with your dream groomsmen look in mind. Maybe it’s a navy blue suit with a tie in the exact shade of your bridesmaid dresses. You get to the tuxedo shop, excited to make your selections. This will be easy, right? Wrong. You might be surprised to find that many tuxedo stores have a very limited selection when it comes to ties and tie colors. (Yes, even those chains.)
Now, some of the smaller tux shops will go out of their way to find you the ties you’ve envisioned. Coral paisley ties. Wisteria striped. Dark burgundy matte. Oh yes, they can special order those for your wedding, for a premium.
Want to take a guess where those ties are coming from?
We sell a lot of ties to tuxedo shops. Don’t get us wrong. We love their business. But they are often coming to TieMart for those special order wedding ties.
So, if there is a specific tie (style, color, etc.) you want your groomsmen in and aren't willing to settle with tuxedo shop options, you're going to be buying wedding ties for your groomsmen.
Don't worry. We offer a few ties here at TieMart. (Okay, maybe 5,000+.) We can help.
Coral Clara Paisley Slim Necktie
We already mentioned those special order ties from the tuxedo shops that will cost you more than buying the ties yourself. For some, the convenience is worth the upsell. But if you’re on a strict wedding budget, buying the ties yourself will save you some bucks.
Even if you’re selecting ties from what the tuxedo shop offers, no special orders, once you add on all the available groomsmen accessories, you still usually come out ahead to buy groomsmen ties yourself.
It’s true. A tuxedo shop may include the tie or charge you something minimal, says $3, with a rented suit. But then if you want a pocket square, you have to buy that for $15 from the tux shop. Socks? Add $10. Lapel pin? $20. Add it all up. Simply renting the tux, shirt and shoes, while buying the groomsmen’s ties and accessories yourself, will often save you money. Especially for large wedding parties.
Coral Clara Paisley Pocket Square
So now that you've decided to buy the groomsmen ties and accessories yourself, you need to know where to start. TieMart can help.
Start with our tie color page. You'll find a huge list of our solid and pattern ties grouped by color. You can also check out our matching bridesmaid dress page. We list a ton of different bridesmaid dress colors with links to which of our ties are the best match. Just be careful. A lot of dress companies use the same color names, but their colors are different. Which brings us to:
Free color swatches. Once you've had a look at our tie colors, we recommend requesting free color swatches of the ties you're interested in to make sure they match your wedding colors. Seriously, if you're in the US or Canada we'll send you free fabric swatches from our ties so you can see the colors in person before you make a purchase.
Check out our wedding guide for more wedding tie info. You'll find info on wedding tie styles and sizes, groomsmen accessories besides the tie (suspenders, socks, pocket squares, etc.), and a ton more wedding day tips.

The father of the bride (and groom) are an important part of a wedding, but they're often overlooked when it comes to what to wear. A general rule of thumb is that dad should be dressed as formal as the groomsmen, with minor exceptions. Let's dig in.
The father of the bride and groom usually wear boutonnieres in the same or slightly different styles than the groomsmen, so be sure to include them in the florist order.
Now, from colors to formality, let's get down to specifics with father of the bride apparel. Here are 4 ways to dress the father of bride.
From the tux to the tie, it's not uncommon for the father of the bride to wear the same ensemble as the groomsmen. One thing to consider, though, is the fit of the tuxedo. While slim fit tuxedos might be an obvious choice for your groomsmen, dad might be more comfortable in the same tuxedo, but in the regular cut he's accustomed to. As noted above, dad may prefer to wear his favorite black suit rather than a tuxedo. He can still match by wearing the same accessories (tie, pocket square and boutonniere) as the groomsmen.
Blush Pink Solid Color Pocket Square
Many couples leave the father attire entirely up to dad. It's still smart to give him some guidelines for the big day though, such as color of his suit or tuxedo. For casual weddings where the wedding party won't be wearing traditional attire, make sure dad knows. If groomsmen are in linen button downs and khakis, the father of the bride should leave his suit at home and dress similarly. Letting him know your wedding colors is important, too. Although he might not match his tie or accessories exactly to the colors, this will help him choose a coordinating necktie that won't clash with your wedding colors. If you have a preference to whether he wears a tie or bow tie, it's best to let him know, too.
Pink and Black Striped Bow Tie
Clothing dad in accent wedding colors is our favorite way to dress the father of the bride. For a burgundy and blush wedding with groomsmen adorned in burgundy ties, go blush pink for dad's tie. You can also add different color accents to his pocket square and boutonniere, too.
Burgundy Slim Solid Color Necktie
Neutral ties and accessories are a simple solution to father of the bride attire, especially if you're a dad who's been left with the challenge of dressing yourself. A solid color or tone-on-tone ivory, white, champagne, pale gold or silver tie are formal, wedding appropriate and will match most wedding colors. Classic black is always an option, too.

From the dog of honor to the ring bearer, it's becoming quite common to include those four-legged family members on your wedding day.
But weddings can be stressful enough. Avoid any unnecessary surprises with these tips for including your pets in your big day.
A wedding isn't for every dog and you should really consider Fido's personality and temperament before making him part of your wedding party. Is he easily distracted? Kid friendly? A barker? Able to sit for long periods of time? At an outdoor ceremony, will he be easily distracted by birds flying over, a loud car, plane or even the wedding music? If he's a low-key lad that isn't bothered by much (your lack of attention included), making your pet a part of your wedding is probably a go. For pets that won't make it through a wedding ceremony, consider including them in your wedding photos instead.
Before you bring your pet with on your big day, check with your wedding venue to make sure it's allowed. As you can imagine, many indoor venues like churches, restaurants and banquet halls will restrict pets. Public beaches and forest preserves are great venues for outdoor weddings, but usually have no pet policies you'll be expected to follow as well.
You're going to be busy on your wedding day, and putting someone (that isn't part of your wedding party) in charge of your pet is highly recommended. Pet sitting services can be found online, but a teenage niece, nephew or cousin is great for this role. Give them some dog treats, toys and doggie bags, and let them know that it's okay to take Spot on a walk if he becomes a distraction during the ceremony. Even though you'll be partying the night away, your dog will likely want to call it an early night. Have your designated dog sitter take your tired dog home post ceremony.
If including your pup is a go, then it's time to get him all gussied up for the big day. While most of us won't be taking our pets to the tuxedo shop, a matching accessory or two will get them ready for your big day.
Our most savvy couples have discovered that our band collar bow ties (the same ones you may be purchasing for your groomsmen), fit dogs, too. With most priced at $5.95 to $6.95 each, these bow ties are usually at least 50% cheaper than bow ties specifically made for pets. Band collar bow ties have a band that adjusts like many dog collars to fit any size pet. For medium to large dogs, we suggest sticking to a men's size bow tie. For small dogs, a boys' sized bow tie may be better proportioned, but this is definitely a personal preference. (There's something adorable about a pup in an oversized bow!) If the groom and groomsmen are wearing neckties, most of our bow ties come in the same colors and patterns as our ties so everyone can still match.
Bright Coral Premium Bow Tie
We've all seen the adorable photos of ring bearers holding signs that read "Here She Comes" or "It's Too Late To Run" as they walk down the aisle. With heavy paper or a chalk board and some ribbon, you can make one for your dog to wear around it's collar, too. The key is to make the sign readable for your guests, but not too heavy for your pup. Popular sayings include "Here Comes The Bride", "My Humans Are Getting Married", "Ring Guard Dog", "Always A Bridesmaid, Never A Bride", "Have You Seen The Rings?" or "I'm Here For The Cake."
Floral garland around the collar is another popular accessory choice for wedding dogs, and a bit more feminine for female dogs. This is an easy DIY or job for your florist. Just remember, daffodils, daisies, lilies and a ton more plants are toxic to dogs. ASPCA has compiled a huge list of safe and unsafe plants for dogs. Be sure to only use plants from the non-toxic list or head to a craft store for artificial flowers.

So you got a fancy wedding invitation in the mail, replied with a resounding "Yes, I will attend!" and now you're scratching your head about what to wear.
First things first, read the invitation. That's the beauty of weddings—most of the information you'll need to make the right wardrobe choices will be written down for you. If the wedding you're attending has an established dress code, you'll find it on the invite. (If it's not on the invitation, but a url for the couple's wedding website is included, be sure to look for a dress code there, too.)
But, if guidelines aren't provided there's no need to start hyperventilating. Unspoken wedding etiquette and common sense should rule the day. If you take a few simple bits of advice to heart you'll be looking good come ceremony time.
The venue and time of day should be a major guiding force in your wardrobe choices. Typically, if the wedding is during the day less formal attire reigns supreme. Lighter colors, slacks, a dress shirt and tie are probably okay for a daytime wedding, but you might want to have a jacket on hand just in case.
Night weddings generally require guests to have a more polished, formal appearance. Expect to wear a suit and tie.
Night weddings generally require guests to have a more polished, formal appearance. Expect to wear a suit and tie. If the nighttime wedding is black-tie, you're going to need a tuxedo or well-fitting black suit, at the very least. A formal black bow tie and a black or white pocket square are required for a black-tie wedding, too.
Don't overlook the season and wedding venue. You'll look a bit foolish at a casual beach wedding in July with a dark, heavy suit on. (See our post on summer wedding attire.) Vice versa, for a winter wedding in a cold-weather climate, don't show up in a crisp linen suit.
White Premium Pocket Square
No matter what the dress code is, being well-groomed is a must. Shower, brush your teeth, shave or make sure your facial hair is well maintained and trimmed. Get a haircut if you're looking a bit shaggy. Being clean cut may not be your thing, but the bride and groom will appreciate you stepping outside of your comfort zone for their big day.
Always err on the side of overly formal. It’s a lot easier to remove a suit coat or tie if you feel overdressed than it is to conjure them out of thin air if you go too casual.
Always err on the side of overly formal. It’s a lot easier to remove a suit coat or tie than it is to conjure them out of thin air.
Also consider the happy couple's fashion sense. Are they conservative dressers or fashion-forward trendsetters? It’s very possible you have no clue, which is no big deal. But if you do, think about how they would dress as guests to their own wedding.
No matter what, never wear denim to a wedding unless the invitation specifically says to. In the perfect rustic barn venue, denim can look great on the guests and wedding party. But you don't want to be the one guy wearing jeans when no one else is.
Ninety-five percent of the time, you're going to wear a tie to a wedding. The same considerations you take into account when choosing a tie for any occasion should apply when picking out a tie for a wedding you're attending. Namely, pick something that complements the suit and shirt you plan on wearing.
If you just don't know where to start (and the wedding is not a black-tie event), paisley ties are a great choice for formal occasions. The pattern is dressy, but can be a bit bold, too. Keep your look from going over the top by realizing that a paisley tie is the focus of your outfit. Wear a neutral shirt and suit (solid is best) in colors that complement the paisley pattern.

Dressing for a wedding rehearsal is not as straight forward as a wedding. Keep reading to learn the dos, the don'ts and decipher how formal or casual you need to be.
If you're the groom, our best advice is quite simple: Ask your bride! She may already have in mind or purchased items for you to wear to the wedding rehearsal. If she's leaving it up to you, ask what she will be wearing and in which color.
Dress as formal or casual as your bride. She's likely to be the best dressed person at the wedding rehearsal, and you should aim for the second best. If she's wearing a cocktail dress, you should be in a suit. Add accessories that will complement hers. If she's wearing a blue dress, try to find a matching blue tie.
For a day dress, you should be in slacks, a collared shirt and necktie at minimum. Also consider the rehearsal venue to determine if you should add a jacket. A rehearsal at a country club warrants one. A local restaurant or relative's home may not.
If she is dressing a bit more casual, wear slacks and a collared shirt. Only wear jeans to your wedding rehearsal if your bride is as well.
Dusty Blue Premium Solid Color Necktie
Unless you've been specifically told otherwise, assume a wedding rehearsal is, at minimum, a business casual event. Dress slacks or khakis and a collared shirt (polo or button down) should be the least formal you dress. Without asking the bride or groom, there are a couple ways to know if you should wear a tie, jacket or suit to a wedding rehearsal.
Ask the bride or groom for their input. (Really, it’s ok!)
If you’re still worried of being over or underdressed, there are a couple things you can do. Ask the bride or groom for their input. (Really, it’s ok!) Or, be prepared for any occasion by dressing in separates. Wear tan slacks and a button down dress shirt. Bring with a necktie in a classic dark color (navy, burgundy or gray are our favorites) and a dark sport coat. If you arrive to the wedding rehearsal and see that a collared shirt and slacks won’t cut it, put on the tie and coat for a dressier look.
One thing we can’t stress enough for groomsmen is to not wear the wedding colors to rehearsal, especially any items you’ll be wearing in the wedding. At a rehearsal dinner, the colors and any theme are still a bit of a surprise for the wedding guests, some of whom may be in attendance. It’s okay for the bride and groom to wear the wedding colors if they choose, but steer clear of it yourself.
Black Slim Solid Color Necktie
Much of the same advice for groomsmen applies to all other male guests at a wedding rehearsal. At minimum, wear a collared shirt and dress pants or khakis, and then do your research based on the location to see if you should add a necktie and/or jacket. It’s best to stick to more neutral colors, too. Just like we advise groomsmen, don’t wear what you think is the wedding color; that’s reserved for the wedding party on the big day. It’s not necessary to ask the bride or groom about attire if you’re not part of the wedding party or immediate family. Use your best judgement, don't wear the wedding color and what you wear will be fine.

Summer weddings typically give guests the opportunity to dress in a way that they normally wouldn't. Bright colors, patterns and materials like linen that are usually not appropriate for such formal events find their place to shine here. This can apply to accessories like ties, pocket squares and socks or even the suits themselves.
Picking the right tie for a summer wedding depends on a couple of things. The most important thing is that you follow the dress code. Don’t make the mistake of wearing a colorful polka-dot tie to a black tie or formal wedding.
Check the wedding invite for a dress code. If it's not there, head to the couple's wedding website and see if they've indicated one there. If all else fails and you know the couple well, simply ask them or someone involved in the wedding.
Once you know the dress code, the next step is to find a tie that looks good. This seems simple, but many guys don’t have a solid grasp on which ties are appropriate for which wedding. Below, we’ll provide a helping hand to guide you to the right tie for any summer wedding occasion.
While the term "summer wedding" may sound like it refers to one type of wedding, depending on the dress code and location of the wedding, a summer wedding can mean many different things in regards to what tie you should wear.
A summer wedding can mean many different things in regards to what tie you should wear.
Black tie is perhaps the most straightforward dress code as it offers little to no leeway for you when it comes to choosing a tie, regardless where the wedding is taking place. This dress code means black bow tie, and nothing else.
Formal or black tie optional gives you a pinch of freedom compared to strictly black tie, but wearing a black bow tie or a very conservative necktie here is advisable.
A semi-formal or dressy casual dress code opens up a few more options. If the wedding is during the day, a solid, lighter colored tie is appropriate. An evening wedding means you should stick with a dark, sleek tie to match your darker colored suit. A subtly patterned bow tie is also a great option here.
If the dress code is something along the lines of "festive attire" or "casual", it means you have a lot of freedom to do something fun with your tie. It does not, however, mean that you shouldn’t wear a tie. Feel free to break out that polka-dotted bow tie or that flower-print necktie.
Pale Pink Clara Paisley Band Collar Bow Tie
The general location or venue of the wedding should always be taken into consideration when you're picking out a tie. Obviously, the dress code does a lot of the deciding when it comes to what tie you wear, but the location of the wedding begins to hold more weight as the formalness of the wedding's dress code lessens.
A beach wedding is one of the more common summer weddings and is probably the only instance in which it is okay to wear a white suit. If you're brave enough to go with a white suit, an ocean-blue, lightly patterned bow tie or necktie is your best bet.
The location or venue of the wedding should always be taken into consideration. You're not going to wear the same thing to a beach wedding and a city wedding.
Also a very common summer wedding, the country wedding calls for a tie in an earthy tone like green, navy blue, light blue or even grey. Donning a tie with a small flowery pattern is also a stylish move here. As far as materials go, chambray and linen are perfect in terms of comfort and aesthetic.
The city wedding may require a somewhat more modern look, but you still have a ton of options when it comes to your tie. You’ll look best with a dark, solid color necktie or bow tie to complement your sleek, dark colored suit.
Burgundy Formal Striped Tie
At TieMart, we're obviously more focused on—you guessed it—ties. But we want to make sure you’re still able to look spiffy from head to toe, not just around your neck. Here are a few tips to consider when you’re picking out the rest of your outfit.
Above all else, when you're dressing up for a wedding (whether it's formal or more casual), make sure your clothes actually fit! There's no bigger mistake a man can make when attempting to dress up than when he throws on some loose-fitting misshapen shirt or pair of pants.
When you're dressing up for a wedding, make sure your clothes actually fit!
If the wedding calls for a dress code that's anything less than formal, go for a khaki or lighter-than-navy blue suit. These lighter shade suits will make you stand out in a tasteful manner. Additionally, these colors work well with just about any wedding location. To really make your tie pop with a suit like this, pair it with a white or very light blue shirt.
In terms of footwear, it has been very trendy to wear no-show ankle socks along with either a saddle shoe or a classic solid color buck shoe. If you'd prefer to stay away from what's trendy, you can never go wrong with a pair of more traditional long cotton socks. If you'd still like to add a little something extra to your outfit, pick up a pair of patterned socks—you might be surprised by how big of a difference this subtle touch can actually make.
