Kaitlyn & Addison's Purple Garden Wedding

These two aren't afraid of a little adventure—and their January 2023 engagement was no exception. While visiting Addison’s hometown to ring in the New Year, the couple set out to explore a local cave system. As the day was winding down and they prepared to head back, Addison proposed on the side of a cliff, turning an ordinary winter day into one of their most unforgettable memories.

Fast forward to February 28, 2025, when Kaitlyn and Addison said “I do” in a stunning glass-walled venue by the lake in Manhattan, KS. Despite the late-winter date, the sun was shining and the temperature hit a perfect 60 degrees—just right for their enchanted garden theme.

As they planned their wedding, purple quickly became the heart of their color palette—elegant, unique, and full of charm.

Kaitlyn wanted something different from the trending wedding palettes—purple delivered elegance with a twist.

“I wanted something different than what was popular, but still whimsical and classy,” Kaitlyn shared.

Each groomsman wore a black suit and a floral pocket square—part boutonniere, part accessory—crafted from the same flowers as Kaitlyn’s bouquet and those of her seven bridesmaids. Addison added rural elegance to his wedding-day look with a cowboy hat and boots.

The style flowed effortlessly into the reception, where greenery-filled tables, elegant purple runners, and clusters of candlesticks and string lights gave the venue a warm, glowing ambiance.

With the lakeside setting, glass walls, and nature-inspired decor, the entire day felt like stepping into a fairy tale.

Of course, no wedding is without its surprises. “Our cake came out the wrong color!” Kaitlyn laughed. Her advice for other engaged couples: Don’t sweat the small stuff—“But do put thought into the details.”
