Ashley and Zach’s Romantic Fiesta Wedding

Let’s skip ahead to the moment that changed everything: The proposal. With Ashley’s birthday coming up, Zach went above and beyond to make it one to remember. He planned a surprise trip to National Harbor, MD, where they enjoyed dinner at an upscale Mexican restaurant.

Post dinner, Zach had one more surprise up his sleeve—ferris wheel style. As they rode the Capital Wheel, their car reached the top and Zach got down on one knee. According to Ashley, “it was a super easy yes!”

As the wedding planning began, Ashley's Spanish major played a significant role in shaping the day. Drawing inspiration from her love of Latin American culture, the couple envisioned a romantic fiesta with a Mexican hacienda vibe. The celebration came to life with a vibrant palette of pinks, oranges, yellows, corals and deep greens that truly stole the show.

Ashley credits their wedding venue, Oak Creek Farm in Unionville, VA, in being an instrumental part of their wedding planning.

“Their warm and welcoming demeanor is what brought our love and vision to life!” Ashley said.

Ashley and Zach’s April 13, 2024 wedding day was nothing short of perfection.

The six bridesmaids and Ashley’s two daughters—affectionately dubbed the "OG Bridesmaids"—played a key role in the wedding theme. The bridesmaids wore a stunning array of dresses in the wedding colors, each tailored to their individual styles. Their bouquets beautifully showcased the full spectrum of the day’s palette.

The six groomsmen, however, kept things understated in light tan suits paired with deep green neckties. This subtle choice not only highlighted the bridesmaids' colorful attire, but also allowed Zach's outfit to truly stand out.

And stand out he did in an eye-catching emerald green suit. The finishing touch, however, was finding just the right bow tie to complete Zach’s look. When it was time to get married, the couple lucked out with a gorgeous spring day for their outdoor ceremony: Sunny skies and 70 degrees. Surrounded by family and friends, Ashley married her best friend in a sprawling setting to capture their love story.

“Zach and I couldn’t have been more blessed with such a beautiful day,” Ashley said.

Ashley and Zach have some sound advice for engaged couples: "Enjoy being engaged! You won’t realize how special it is being a fiancé until you’re a wife. Don’t wish any of that time away and definitely don’t get hung up on the small stuff.”
