A Utah Fairytale: Emily and Carder’s Western Wedding

A bride and groom with a miniature cow

Emily always dreamed of a western-themed wedding. With her wedding date set, she and fiancé Carder pulled out all the stops: A stunning wedding palette, sprays of wildflowers, wagon wheels, whiskey barrels and even a miniature cow as a ring bearer! Grab your partner, gather 'round and let's explore this Utah love story.

It all started with a friendship sparked on social media. Next thing you know, Emily and Carder are getting ready to say "I Do" at a picturesque outdoor venue in Vernal, UT.

Emily selected a stunning mix of colors to nail the western wedding vibe: Turquoise, burnt orange, rust and dark wine. "It just felt like the colors matched perfectly," she said.

The big day arrived: September 23, 2023. The morning of their wedding day started with a bit of a hiccup with local law enforcement. (What’s the wild west without the sheriff showing up?)

"After that it was amazing," Emily said. "Everything went so smoothly."

Emily walked down the aisle in a romantic lace wedding dress and bouquet of wildflowers, while her bridesmaids continued to set the scene in burnt orange and rust.

Meanwhile, Carder and groomsmen kept things rustic in tan vests, crisp white button downs and denim. When it was time to find wedding ties for the guys, Emily's future mother-in-law recommended TieMart, where her church also orders from. The couple added a pop of color with TieMart’s burnt orange neckties under the vests.

Don’t forget the dads! The father of the bride and groom tied the color palette together by wearing turquoise ties beneath black vests.

But hold your horses, because a western wedding isn’t complete without a barnyard animal. Meet Stanley, Emily and Carder's unforgettable ring bearer. Turns out, a family friend breeds these adorable miniature highlands, so he was perfect for the role.

Looking back on their wedding day, the couple's advice to engaged couples echoed their own experience: "Stay calm and don't get overwhelmed. It's stressful but if you have your partner with you through the whole thing it's perfect and helps you stay calm," Emily said.

Thanks for sharing your wedding day with us, Emily and Carder. Enjoy your ride off into the sunset!
