LaShawn and Nathan’s Burnt Orange Wedding
Love stories often begin in the most unexpected places, and for LaShawn and Nathan it all started at his cousin’s beauty salon. As LaShawn sat getting her hair done, her future was about to change.
Jump ahead to the proposal. Nathan outdid himself by planning an intimate surprise dinner. LaShawn’s son flew in for the occasion and joined her father and closest friends. We won’t keep you waiting: It was a yes!
It was time to begin wedding planning and the couple decided on a destination wedding. The big day would take place at an all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
LaShawn and Nathan’s wedding day arrived on August 19, 2023. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected guest: A thunderstorm.
Despite the weather, the resort’s team rallied. The ceremony was held indoors in a secluded chapel on site, complete with colorful stained glass, gorgeous wooden pews, rustic chandeliers and lush surroundings.

The couple added personal touches to their wedding day, like a burnt orange, ivory and tan color palette with a splash of gold. (Think tropical sunsets and sandy beaches.)
To incorporate the wedding colors, the five groomsmen wore matching burnt orange neckties, pocket squares and flower lapel pins, which LaShawn found from TieMart via an internet search.
